Overview

SmokingOn uses limited browser storage for account functionality, remembering your analytics choices, optional product features, and — where you consent — optional analytics. This policy explains what we use and how you can control optional technologies.

Cookies and browser storage we use

Authentication

If you create an account or sign in, SmokingOn's authentication provider (Google Firebase) uses browser storage needed to keep you signed in and help secure your account. This storage is necessary for signed-in account functionality. Clearing site data in your browser may sign you out.

Optional feature storage

If you use optional assisted-booking or concierge confirmation flows, SmokingOn may temporarily store the information needed to show your confirmation on that visit. This storage is session-scoped and cleared when the relevant browser tab or session ends, or when the confirmation is cleared.

Analytics choice

When optional Google Analytics is enabled for this site, SmokingOn stores your analytics choice in browser storage so we can remember whether you accepted or declined optional analytics.

Google Analytics

Google Analytics 4 is optional. It is used only where analytics is enabled for this site, and it activates only after you consent. If you decline, optional analytics remains off. When active after consent, Google may set analytics cookies (commonly identifiers such as _ga / _ga_*) to help us understand website usage.

Accommodation and referral links

When you follow certain accommodation referral links, SmokingOn may record a minimal server-side referral event for commercial measurement. That event is not itself a browser cookie placed in your browser by SmokingOn.

Following an accommodation referral link does not itself cause SmokingOn to place an additional advertising cookie in your browser. The booking platform you visit may use its own cookies under its own privacy and cookie policies.

Your choices

• When optional analytics is enabled, use the on-site analytics consent prompt to accept or decline. Declining keeps optional analytics off.
• You can clear site data or adjust cookie and storage settings in your browser. Clearing storage may sign you out and reset stored preferences.
• Necessary account and security functionality works independently of optional analytics consent.
